    Who can appear for this examination?
    Candidates enrolled for M.Sc. or having completed 10+2+3 years on the above qualifying examination are also eligible to apply under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition that they complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship from the effective date of award.
    Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format (Given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Department/Institute from the candidate is appearing or has appeared.
    What is the age limit & relaxation for JRF (NET) & LS (NET)?
    For JRF (NET): Maximum 28 years as on 01-01-20….. (upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants).
    For LS (NET): No upper age limit.
    When is the UGC Exam usually conducted?
    UGC conducts this examination twice a year, generally in the months of June and December. The notification for UGC-NET/JRF/JUNE exam is generally published in the first week of April and that for UGC-NET/JRF/DECEMBER exam in the first week of October.     When is the CSIR-NET/ JRF Exam usually conducted?
    CSIR-UGC jointly conducts this examination twice a year, generally in the months of June and December. The notification for CSIR-NET/JRF/JUNE exam is generally published in the first week of February and that for CSIR-NET/JRF/DECEMBER exam in the first week of August.     How will I know if I have cleared the National Eligibility Test?

    What is the eligibility criteria/ minimum qualification for NET?
    M.Sc. or B.Tech./B.E./B.S. 4 Year programme or an equivalent degree, with a minimum of 55% marks for general & OBC and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates, physically and visually handicapped candidates.
